Tourism and sustainable development in the via Dinarica

Help the sustainable development of one of the most beautiful and uncontaminated regionsof the Balkans.

The Dinaric Alps are a small piece of heaven, still wild and uncontaminated, straddling Albania and Montenegro.  In this almost unexplored natural area, the opportunities of economic growth for the population, still devoted to agriculture and crafts activities, are mostly related to the development of sustainable tourism, including small B&Bs, open-air sports activities and historical traditions.

The objective of the PAI Project (Innovative environmental policies along and around the Via Dinarica: individuation of eco-sustainable processes) is to favour this kind of sustainable development. To do that, the project works mostly on the training of local bodies, entrepreneurs and economic subjects in the Via Dinarica, on the delicate themes of environmental protection, eco-tourism and innovative environmental policies, through theexchange of experiences among local people operating in this sector and operators of several other public bodies in the Region of Tuscany, the diffusion of eco-sustainability principles among tourism enterprises in the region and the creation of micro-enterprises related to ecological economics and waste recycling.

With your help you can contribute to a sustainable and fair development of the Via Dinarica, through the support of small-scale crafts and tourism activities in the area and the training of local operators on the theme of sustainability.

One way to help this beautiful natural area, which is still relatively unknown, to become a new destination of sustainable and environmental tourism, and, at the same time, protect its delicate cultural and environmental heritage.
